Terms and Conditions Agreement

Wedding Receptions at Melange

Tentative bookings – Melange will tentatively reserve your preferred booking date for a maximum of 14 days, after which if written confirmation and deposit is not received, Melange reserves the right to release the booking, however we will endeavour to be in contact via phone or email prior to release of your booking.

Confirmation and Deposit – Confirmation of your booking must be received in writing along with a signed copy of the contract which will be forwarded to you by the Wedding Coordinator along with the deposit of $800.00. No bookings will be confirmed without a deposit. Preferred payment methods are by cash, EFT or by credit cards. However the use of credit cards will have a credit card surcharge of 1.75% for Visa and MasterCard and 4% for AMEX.

Payment – Full payment is required 14 days prior to function day. Any additional costs incurred on the day/night of function must be paid in full prior to end of function.

Minimum catering spends required for day function at Melange is $4800 and for night function is $8800 on any given day.

Final numbers – Final menu choices and dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 14 days prior to the function day. Final confirmed numbers of attendees are required 14 days prior to the commencement of the event. Charges for both the catering and beverages are charged at the confirmed number or actual attendance, whichever is greater.

Surcharge – A surcharge of 15% applies for Public Holidays only.

Cancellations – Any cancellations must be advised in writing to take effect. Cancellation made more than 90 days prior to reception day, will have a 50% of deposit retained by Melange. Cancellation made more than 60 days prior to reception day will have the deposit retained by Melange. Cancellation request made within 30 to 60 days of the reception day, will incur a 50% of the total bill for food and beverages cost quoted. However, cancellation request made within 30 days of the reception date, will incur 100% of the total food and beverages cost quoted.

Liquor licensing – Our liquor license ceased at midnight 12:00pm. As such the service of alcohol would extend till 11:30pm only. Also, Melange reserves the right to refuse any guests that are under the age of 18 years or duly intoxicated from further consumption.

Special Dietary requirements – Any special dietary requirements that you may have are catered at no additional charge.

Menus & Beverages quoted  - Melange will strive to satisfy your chosen menu and beverages package. However, if Melange considers that it is necessary to make minor adjustments due to unforeseen circumstances, you our client will be advised and consulted of the necessary amendments. A minimum 4 hours beverage package is required for a Saturday night function. Should a bar tab option is chosen a minimum beverage charge will apply at the discretion of Melange.

External food and Beverage – Due to licensing law and health regulations, Melange reserves the right in refusing the guests from bringing their own food or beverages onto the premises. However, if upon advice by the clients due to the guests’ dietary requirements, exemption are therefore permitted. Also, Melange does not allow food to be taken away from the premises by any party.

Client responsibilities –

• Melange does not accept any responsibility for the damage of any goods brought to the venue before, during or after the event. It is the client’s own responsibility to arrange adequate insurance to cover such items.
• The client should ensure all goods/packages delivered and/or collected from Melange before or after the event are adequately sealed and labelled for relevant persons or destinations.
• The client is responsible the venue is vacated by the agreed event finish time. Any cost incurred by Melange as a result of a late finish will be the responsibility of the organiser.
• Decorations, banners, signs and posters are only permissible upon agreement with Wedding Coordinator.
• The client is financially held responsible for any loss or damage caused to Melange’s property or equipment by the clients, their guests or contractors before, during or after the event. Under no circumstances are any adhesive materials allowed unless upon agreement with Wedding Coordinator.
• Melange reserves the right to expel any guests that should behave inappropriately towards guests attending the function or staffs on duty.

Additional Information

Children prices – Meals charges for children are subject to age of the child:-

1 - 5 Years – No charge

6 - 12 Years – $20 per child. Set menu available

13 Years onwards – Adult price. The price varies according to menu package selected. However, should only a meal required, the child’s meal will be charged at $20.00.  Set  menu available.

Miscellaneous services - Entertainment/Florists/Bombonieres/Cakes/Celebrants/Photographers/Misc services can be recommended by Melange. You are under no obligation to use the recommended suppliers and Melange will not be held responsible for their services.
